The Ford Smart lock Bypass module is a wire-in device which will allow the use of a Ford Smartlock based ECU in vehicles / boats without the need for the associated Ignition barrel wiring and BEM / BCM.
For example if you are doing an engine conversion using the ford running gear, or also ideal for those who wish to utilise remote start alarms / immobilisers.

This device is also used to eliminate a faulty factory BEM / BCM which would otherwise cause the ECU not to provide fuel and spark, or the engine not to crank.
The module provides the ECU with the required signals to allow the engine to operate, and comes fully epoxy potted for protection against moisture and corrosion and basic installation instructions.

The Smartlock Bypass can be used with Ford EB / ED / EF / EL and AU series 1,  XG and XH utes and panel vans.
Smartlock based ECU’s as well as XG and XH Utes, both 6 cylinder and v8 variants, and comes with fitting instructions.

*Note this device will NOT work on AU II or AUIII ECU’s which have SmartShield Immobilisation. (Generally March 1999 onwards)

    i would like to thank everyone involved in this i had herd about this site and i was not sure but i have to say the price was on the mark and also the quick replys was also good as you were not waiting days for someone to relpy and the delivery was amazing very fast they said it would take so long and it took olny a few days all the way to melbourne and i was able to finish my car. thanks and i will be geting more from here when i need it and i will be telling other friends as well. i give it 7stars in all

    Great product. Great price. Fast delivery and friendly service.
    I installed this bypass module by myself into my 1997 XH ute. Bloody BCM smart lock has been given me grief for years. I made several phone calls to businesses that remanufactured BCM units for exchange and they quoted upwards of $700. This module was a fraction of the cost. I was hesitant to install the module myself simply because I had no idea what I was doing, my auto electrical skills are not the greatest. My only experience is wiring speakers.

    With the supplied installation sheet that comes with the unit, my XH workshop book with wiring diagrams, and a soldering iron I got it installed. the ute now starts the first time every time. No more tapping the BCM module or Griswold moments turning the key hoping it lights up.
    Shift Kits emailed me back and answered my enquires and were happy to answer my amateur auto electrical questions with patience. Their assistance boosted my confidence to install the module myself.
    Thank you Shift Kits Australia, if I had the money I would fly over to Perth and thank you all in person. Honestly, I am very happy.
